Erhard Wortmann

About the artist

Inspired by Impressionism, Expressionism and Surrealism, Erhard Wortmann's oeuvre is oriented towards a constructive manner of depiction. Constructivism is presented by the artist in a variety of art forms, in medium and large-format paintings in oil and acrylic paints, and sculptures in stone and metal. His works are geometric forms that repeatedly make relations to a reality. Despite gray and many cold shades, the strict forms with many curves do not lead to a coldness. Rather, the viewer feels structured heat, which reaches him over several levels.
