Aurel Mothes

About the Artist

In Aurel Mothes‘ work, the colors harmoniously merge with one another through dance-like moving form. The spontaneity of the generous brushwork phrases a light and playful expressiveness of the forms through which the artist invites the viewer to participate in the movement of the image content. Tuned to this dance-like language of forms, the artist uses brilliant colors that articulate a certain musical joy. In the work of Mothes one always finds the balance of the various components and gains a visual impression of the rhythm of life.

Aurel Mothes received training in painting from his father Peter-Andreas Mothes, at a young age. At 18, Aurel Mothes had his first public exhibition. He realized that in public and social institutions, artistic concepts make the working and living environment pleasant. Today he makes exhibitions and murals in various European countries. In his studio he mainly produces large-format oil and acrylic works, with sand as mixed media. He lives and works in Kassel.
